Hello
I teach the way I'd want my own family taught
I'm Syed, and I teach people to drive automatics here in Guildford. I live locally, the car is parked locally, and the roundabout that catches half of Guildford's learners out is ten minutes from my front door.
Most people arrive carrying something — a bad experience with another instructor, a parent who shouted, a test failed by one fault nobody explained properly. The first job is rarely the pedals. It's getting someone to breathe out.
After that it's methodical. Skills come in an order that builds on itself, every lesson has one thing it's actually for, and you'll always leave knowing what that was and how it went. If something isn't working yet I'll say so plainly, and then we'll go and fix it.
I don't take on more learners than I can give proper diary space to. If I can't offer you a decent regular slot I'll tell you, rather than string you along on cancellations.
In every lesson
Four things that never change
Whatever you're working on that week, these stay constant — it's why lessons feel the same on a bad day as a good one.
The full hour
The clock starts when you get in, not when I set off. Driving to your door is my problem, not something you pay for.
One aim per lesson
Agreed at the start, reviewed at the end, and written down for you afterwards. You never have to guess how it went.
No test before you're ready
Booking a test "to have something to aim for" wastes money and confidence. It gets booked when your mock says it should.
The same car every time
You learn one car's mirrors, size and brakes — and take your test in it. No swapping between vehicles.
The car
Dual controls, and a mirror pointed at you
A tuition car should be boring in the best possible way: predictable, well maintained, and set up so nothing about it surprises you on test day.
- Modern automatic with dual controls. Used rarely, and only when it genuinely matters.
- Extra interior mirror. So your observations can be coached rather than guessed at.
- Fully insured for tuition. Serviced on schedule, cleaned between learners, never double booked.
- Yours on test day. Including the warm-up hour before your slot.

Ask, and you'll get a straight answer today.
Tell Syed where you're up to and where you'd be picked up. He'll come back with a price and a couple of times that work — no obligation, nothing to pay online.
